  2. Who does the work on your site?

    Anything with an "MAS" in the product's part number is made by Mitchell Andrus Studios. Other's work may be offered, each having a three letter identifier to denote the maker. If in doubt, ask me about this more specifically.

  3. How close is the "Estimated Ship Time" noted on each listing?

    Pretty close. 'Been doing this since '95. I'm getting the hang of estimating shop-time.

  4. I need to match the stain on another piece I own....

    Two things to note:

    1. I can't match someone else's stain color. I don't even offer to match my own unless two pieces are ordered at the same time.

    2. No furniture maker promises to match colors, even their own.

    Attemps at color-matching never work. I've spent more time mixing and sampling stains than building some pieces. I don't even attempt it any more.

    There may be companies that will custom mix a stain for you... I don't know of one that has any reasonable rate of success, don't ask! I will apply whatever stain you send to me in an effort to match your existing pieces. However, the risk is all your's. I do not accept returns on custom pieces.

  5. Will your stains fade?

    Yes. Everything fades. Leather, stains, dyes, paint, cloth, wood, my memory....

    An exception is cherry wood. The color deepens and matures as it's exposed to sunlight.

    Contrast if you can't match. Variety isn't bad... Look around your house. Variety!

  7. What is your return policy?

    Some items ordered exactly as they are shown on the website and returned for reasons other than defect, may be returned as a courtesy return within 10 days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price, less a 25% restocking/handling fee. Shipping is not refunded on courtesy returns.  In the event of a return of custom made items (all picture frames and similar products, all cabinets and similar products, any catalog items altered to suit, inlays and parts, etc.) involving material defect or shipping damage, an exact duplicate item will be furnished. The customer has the sole burden of accurately measuring for proper fit and determining the accuracy of all variables and suitability of use, therefore, the sale of any custom made item, inlay, part or completed product is final. Shipping damage must be noted within 2 days of receipt. An exact duplicate item will be furnished for any item damaged in shipping. The will be no returns of any product altered or installed at it's destination. Water and/or cleaning solution damage resulting from use/misuse is not considered an effect of nor evidence of a material defect.

    All wood, natural material and manufactured products are subject to variations in wood color, stain color and absorption, grain pattern and intensity, surface textures, weave, patina application, natural aging process, etc. Variations of this nature do not constitute a defect. All woods, stains, dyes and colors patinas fade or change. Minimizing exposure to direct sun and wear during use will minimize changes. There is no warranty against fading nor failure of any finish due to any kind of abrasion.

  8. Shipping & lost shipments

    In the event a shipment is lost, misdirected, stolen, etc., the shipping company and the shipper shall have up to 2 weeks to find the shipment and re-deliver, or upon determining that the package is totally undeliverable re-order the item and complete the fulfillment of the order in a timely fashion. No refunds are offered or expected in the event of such a delay of delivery, and no compensatory compensation is offered or expected in the event of loss or delay.
